18 Mar AirRevive’s March 31 Event Will Show How a Two-Step Process Can Reduce Guestroom Fan Coil Energy Usage in Las Vegas Hotels

March 17, 2015 – LAS VEGAS — Summers are hot and the environment is noisy in Las Vegas. After a day of pulsating neon, ringing slot machines, buzzing conversation and triple digit temperatures, tourists are probably ready for someplace cool and quiet to land.

AirRevive is creating just such a haven at the Hilton Grand Vacations Suites time share.

AirRevive (http://www.airrevive.com), a Davie, Fla  commercial air conditioning refurbishment service provider, will be showcasing their current sustainable re-commissioning project at the Hilton Grand Vacations Suites on March 31.

During a 20-minute live re-commissioning tour, running from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., AirRevive will demonstrate how to improve guest comfort while reducing fan coil energy usage by up to 80 percent. Grab and go lunch will be provided and a cocktail party and reception will follow from 5 to 7 p.m.

AirRevive will demonstrate its re-commissioning service which includes refurbishing the guestroom air conditioning units, replacing the chilled water supply control valves, and retrofitting the motors with new programmable EC motors.

AirRevive uses proprietary alkaline-based cleaning chemicals from its parent company, ChemTron, to pull soil and organic material from the coil’s core to clean and disinfect all parts and components inside the cabinet. This cleaning drops the coil’s operation temperature significantly.

In the Las Vegas Hilton Grand Vacations , the average coil temperature drop is 11 percent.   Cleaner coils are also healthier coils, both for hotel guests and the environment. The AirRevive refurbishment disinfects the coil, drain line, and pan. It replaces worn-out fiber insulation with anti-microbial foam insulation. All of these are favorite hiding place for allergens. Fewer allergens mean better air quality and easier breathing. The deep cleaning also kills bacteria that cause malodors and viruses that thrive in air conditioning systems.

In the re-commissioning second phase, AirRevive improves the air conditioning system’s flexibility by replacing permanent split capacitor (PSC) fans with electronically commutated motors (ECM).The EC motors have variable-speed capability and can accommodate customized airflow patterns.The EC motors are programmed to produce airflow to the manufacturer’s specification so humidity evaporates more efficiently, air circulates more fluidly and efficiency improves dramatically. The EC motors draw 80 percent less energy while maintaining optimal rotation speed.

“Airflow is critical,” AirRevive President Justin Del Sesto said, “because many times hotel guestrooms are overblowing i.e., airflow is too fast, which prevents air conditioning from working properly. Our service brings airflow back to manufacturer’s specification, which is key to reducing humidity and proper cooling. ”

The new motors also reduce noise. At the Hilton Grand Vacations Suites, AirRevive’s work has reduced air conditioning noise by about 12 percent from 58 decibels to 49 decibels.

Hearingaidknow.com says a 10-decibel difference would make the air conditioner noise half as loud after refurbishment as it was before. Meanwhile, reducing the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system’s energy by 80 percent can translate to around 15 percent to 20 percent less energy consumption for the building. Re-commissioning costs thousands of dollars less than unit replacement.

Although AirRevive’s program has so far involved the hospitality and municipal industries,  the company is expanding to other commercial businesses and multifamily housing.
